Jumaat 6hb Januari 2012, sebuah van sekolah yang dipandu oleh seorang lelaki berbangsa India telah melanggar sebuah kereta yang dipandu oleh seorang wanita melayu di hadapan sekolah STAR Johor Bahru.
Keadaan jalanraya sangat sibuk kerana orang ramai bersesak-sesak untuk mengambil anak masing-masing yang besekolah di STAR dan SIGS terutamanya pada hari Jumaat. Kesesakan ini menjadi lebih parah kerana sekolah SIGS telah melaksanakan waktu persekolah satu sesi.
Kereta tersebut telah dihimpit walaupun ianya dalam keadaan berhenti.
Nasib baik kemalangan tersebut tidak melibatkan sebarang nyawa namun pihak yang bersalah perlu membuat ganti rugi kepada mangsa tersebut.
Suatu tindakan segera perlu dilakukan bagi mengelakkan kemalangan berulang di kawasan yang sama. Kedua-dua sekolah tersebut perlu berunding supaya murid waktu masuk dan keluar sekolah tidak ditetapkan pada masa yang sama.

Tokyo – Satu konvoi kereta mewah terlibat dalam kemalangan di bandar Yamaguchi menyebabkan jalan berkenaan terpaksa ditutup selama lebih enam jam.

Apa yang menariknya, ia merupakan kemalangan kereta paling mahal di dalam sejarah melibatkan kerugian bernilai AS$3.58 juta.

Kemalangan tersebut membabitkan lapan kereta ferrari, tiga kereta Mercedes Benz dan sebuah Lamborghini serta dua kenderaan biasa.

Ia bagaimanapun tidak melibatkan kecederaan serius.

Ketika kejadian, konvoi kereta mewah tersebut dalam perjalanan ke Hiroshima.

Polis percaya kemalangan tersebut berlaku selepas salah seorang pemandu Ferrari berkenaan cuba menukar laluan sebelum melanggar penghadang jalan.

“Kumpulan berkenaan memandu antara 140-160km/sejam,” kata seorang saksi.

Manakala seorang peronda lebuh raya, Eiichiro Kamitani berkata, dia tidak pernah melihat kemalangan seperti itu yang melibatkan banyak kereta mewah.

“Ferrari selalunya tidak bergerak dalam jumlah yang banyak,” katanya.

Sementara itu, salah seorang pemandu kenderaan berkenaan memaklumkan, sesetengah kenderaan mewah itu mengalami kerosakan teruk.

Tragic: Marco Simoncelli of Italy and San Carlo Honda Gresini has died following a crash involving Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards during the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang, Malaysia

'All his father could do was hug me': Team-mate consoles family who watched in horror as motorcyclist is killed during Malaysian Moto GP

Italian motorcyclist Marco Simoncelli died in a horrific crash at yesterday's MotoGP race in Malaysia, in full view of his devastated family and girlfriend.

The 24-year-old was flung from his bike and skidded across the track, before apparently being hit by competitors Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.

His mother Rossella, father Paolo and girlfriend Kate watched in horror as Simoncelli's bike was smashed to pieces after his dramatic loss of control in the second lap.

They wept in shock as the unconscious rider was taken to the medical centre at the track in Sepang for treatment, but his injuries to the chest, head and neck were too serious for him to be saved.

Simoncelli's fellow Honda rider Dani Pedrosa, who had fallen out with Simoncelli earlier in the season, said: 'I've been with his father and all we could do was to hug, nothing else matters.

'Everybody in the paddock remains in shock. Many times we ourselves forget how dangerous this sport can be and when you lose people on the way nothing has any meaning. It's clear that we all do what we like, what we love, but on days like today nothing matters.'

He added: 'In a tragedy like this there is not much to say. I just want to give my condolences to his family and all the people who love him.'

The rider's girlfriend, Kate looked ashen-faced and she walked through the deserted MotoGP garages.

Fans were also spotted huddled near the track sobbing over the rider's death. He had only moved up to MotoGP level last year.

Yesterday tributes were posted on Twitter in memory of the talented rider.

British Formula One driver Jenson Button wrote on his account: 'R.I.P Marco... Such an exciting talent lost. My thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone involved in MotoGP. Motorsport can be so cruel...'

And Button's Formula One teammate Lewis Hamilton wrote: 'My thoughts are with his family, friends and team at this extremely sad time. Another tragic loss at such an early age.'

Newly-crowned MotoGP champion Casey Stoner said: 'I'm so shocked and saddened by the loss of Marco. When things like this happen it reminds you how precious life is.

The Australian told BBC2: 'As soon as I saw the footage it just makes you sick inside. Whenever the helmet comes off, that's not a good sign.'

The last death in MotoGP came at the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix, when Japan's Daijiro Katoh died from his injuries.

Medical director at Clinica Mobile Dr Michele Macchiagodena said at a press conference yesterday that U.S. rider Edwards had suffered a dislocated shoulder in the crash but it had been reset and he was 'fine'.

When asked about Simoncelli's helmet coming off, race director Paul Butler said at the press conference: 'I think if I may reply, that will be for another occasion. Quite clearly the consequences and circumstances surrounding the accident will be thoroughly investigated.'

Australian Formula One driver Mark Webber wrote on Twitter: 'R.I.P Marco A special talent that will be missed... Thinking of your loved ones, and all the motogp paddock..mark.'

British MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow tweeted: 'RIP Marco Simoncelli ! A great rider and all round nice guy. My thoughts are with all his family & friends. I will never forget today.'

Mitsubishi introduced the Lancer Evolution IX in Japan on March 3, 2005,^[13] and exhibited the car at the Geneva Motor Show for the European market the same day.^[14] The North American markets saw the model exhibited at the New York International Auto Show the following month.^[15] The 2.0 L 4G63 engine has MIVEC technology (variable valve timing), and a revised turbocharger design boosting official power output at the crankshaft to 291 PS (214 kW; 287 hp) and torque to 392 N·m (289 lb·ft).

The USDM Lancer Evolution IX models: standard (Grand Sport Rally or "GSR" in some markets), RS (Rally Sport), SE (Special Edition) and MR (Mitsubishi Racing) varied slightly in their performance capabilities. Subtleties unique to each model accounted for variations in acceleration, handling and top speed. The RS excluded features standard on the standard, SE and MR models (stereo system, power windows and locks, rear wiper, rear wing, trunk lining and sound insulation). The result is a weight savings of over 60 lb (27 kg). The fuel capacity remains the same as the Evo VIII at 14 USgal (53 L).

Although the RS is the lightest of the group, the RS did not manage to outperform the standard IX and the MR around a road course (even if only by fractions of a second). This was purported to be due to the lack of a rear wing on the RS. In a drag race, the three models are all about even. The times for the quarter miles ranged from 12.4 to 12.7 seconds. The RS model was produced for rally and racing teams who wanted a platform to build a race car from. It is stripped of all the creature comforts, and other upgrades that drive the price up for features that the race teams would not require.

The IX MR retained the features of the Evolution VIII MR, like Bilstein shocks, a 6-speed manual transmission, a rooftop vortex generator, BBS forged wheels, HID xenon headlights, foglights, accessory gauge package, "zero lift" kit, special badging and an aluminum roof. All models continued to sport Recaro bucket seats, Brembo brakes and Momo steering wheels. Additional revisions from 2005 included a closer gear ratio for the 5-speed manual transmission, new lighter Enkei wheels on non-MR models, a redesigned front end with a more efficient air dam (the most noticeable feature are the two small oval ducts to cool the intercooler pipes), and a new rear bumper with a diffuser undersurface to smooth out the airflow coming out of the car for non-US models. In an effort to reduce the price increase on the Evolution IX model,^{[citation needed]} HID headlights were no longer standard equipment on the base IX (nor were they standard on the 2005 VIII), and were available only in the SSL package (Sun, Sound, and Leather), SE (Special Edition) and MR trims.

PROTON Holdings Bhd is strengthening its presence in the industry of local automotive model through multi-purpose (MPV) Exora, will produce another newmodel sedan by July next, with the introduction of price around RM80, 000 per unit. Model which will replace the Waja and said able to increase more market share in Proton local automotive industry and international, will display a copy of version Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT is upgraded.

Currently, the existing model Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT fully imported (CBU) from Japan, is priced at RM120, 598.10 without insurance in this country. Model is distributed by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Ltd. Is Lotus finally accepting the Litespeed run/Malaysian backed Lotus F1 Team as their own? It would seem so because Hethel has chose now to launch the Exige S Type 72, named after the Lotus Type 72 Formula One car which achieved 20 Grand Prix victories between 1970 and 1975. To commemorate a return of the Lotus name in F1 perhaps?
The Type 72 won three Formula 1 Constructors’ Championships (1970, 1972, 1973) and two Drivers’ World Championships (Jochen Rindt in 1970 and Emerson Fittipaldi in 1972). The Exige S wears the famous black and gold Type 72 livery and is finished by the same sign writer who painted the racing cars.
The 935kg Exige S sprints to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, before maxing out at 233 km/h. It is a powered by a mid-mounted Toyota sourced 1.8-litre supercharged engine with 220 bhp/215 Nm and an 8500rpm redline.
The Exige S Type 72 comes with black micro fibre ProBax sports seats with gold stitching and a special build plate commemorating one of the F1 car’s 20 GP wins. The Sport Pack, which includes a steel main roll hoop, Lotus Traction Control, twin oil coolers and an adjustable front anti-roll bar, is standard.

For all the bad press that GM got for its fuel-guzzlers which were partly blamed for the corporation's downfall, it now has something that is just the opposite to offer a production car that can go the equivalent of 230 US miles per gallon, equivalent to 97.8 kms per litre of 276 UK mpg. It's the Chevrolet Volt electric car which is due to begin production in late 2010 and and the claim is based on development testing using a draft EPA (the US Environmental Protection Agency) Federal fuel economy methodology for labeling for plug-in electric vehicles.

GM has announced that the car can go up to 65 kms on electricity from a single battery charge and be able to extend its overall range to more than 480 kms with its flex fuel-powered engine-generator. UPDATE: The i30 1.6 and 2.0 have been launched in Malaysia!

This is Hyundai's new generation European car, the Hyundai i30. It is also the first in a new model naming scheme which will name models using a numeric series, with the i30 being the C-segment model. It was styled in the Hyundai's Russelsheim Design and Technical Center in Europe.

Although it looks like it was inspired by a few other designs, like a Honda grille, a Mazda 3 side profile, 1-series rear, and etc the overall combination seems to look pleasing to the eye. On the interior, there is generous use of blue and white as these colours are easy on the eyes. Hyundai has also taken great care to ensure the ergonomics are good, with everything like gear shifters and steering column stalks within natural reach.

Engine options include a 1.4 liter DOHC CVVT engine making 108PS, a very commendable figure for a 1.4 liter engine indeed. The 1.6 liter engine makes 121PS, while the largest petrol engine is a 2.0 liter making 140PS. Turbodiesel options include a 1.6 CRDi with two outputs - a 90PS version and a 115PS version, and the top of the line oil burner is a 2.0 CRDi with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger, putting out 140PS, equal to the petrol version of similiar displacement.
